Tolkido, the product that on a mission to help children with autism to communicate better, successfully completed its crowdfunding campaign on Arikovani. The project surpassed its initial goal of 100.000 TRY and managed to raise over 125.000 TRY by 120 backers.
Tolkido is a system that makes personalized and playable visual education cards that autistic children use in language and speech training. The system consists of stuffed toys and cards. The images on the Tolkido cards are prepared and glued by the family or teacher. The sound recordings contained in the cards are recorded by the computer, preferably using the voices of the teachers of a family member.
When the voice of the family member or the teacher is used in the sounding of the cards, it establishes a close connection between the child and the toy. The Tolkido cards are created for multiple usages, which means that the families and the education centers don’t have to buy a new car set to teach more words and phrases.
The benefits are many, including:
- Families or special education centers do not have to buy new card sets;
- Encourages the child to talk by playing the educational process;
- The training process is more efficient as the family or teacher prepares the card contents for the child;
- The use of the voice of the family or the teacher in the sounding of the cards establishes a close connection between the child and the toy.
