Google recently introduced Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2. Designed specifically for business use, the new model offers many features and innovations.
Google Glass was introduced as one of the first augmented reality devices in 2013. It was using a small projector to beam computer-generated images into users’ eye.
Equipped with new features, Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 has a faster processor and an updated camera. According to Google, the new quad-core 1.7 GHz CPU is much more powerful than the Intel Atom SoC in the previous Google Glass Enterprise Edition.
The price of the new product is set at 999 dollars. As in previous Google Glass, the new version is also marketed for the corporate user and is not available for the general consumer.
The new Google Glass Enterprise Edition 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR1 platform, specifically designed for virtual reality applications. With the new product developed by Google Glass, it will be much easier to configure devices with applications and services, such as phones and tablets, and to control how employees use them.
Google said the new Glass is used by companies such as H.B Fuller, Sutter Health, Deutsche Post DHL Group and AGCO in the logistics, manufacturing and other industries.
Glass will be able to work smarter and faster. Because it will be much easier to configure devices with applications and services such as phones and tablets, and to control how employees use them.” said Jay Kothari, one of the Google Glass project leaders.
