Hints For Crowdfunding

Campaign Updates: Keeping Your Crowdfunding Supporters Engaged

Keeping the target audience engaged through all the phases of the campaign –from pre-launch through the active stage to the post campaign– gives the entrepreneurs bigger chance of successfully reaching their goals and fulfilling their crowdfunding ambitions. To maximize the effect of their efforts, the campaign team must maintain vivid dialogue with the backers by providing them with regular updates, related to the product and the project.

There are four key types of updates, which the campaigners should provide in order to keep their existing and potential backers on the loop, which are as follows:

Pitch your story

“The beginning is the most important part of the work.” Plato

Behind the idea of every innovative product there is a unique story to tell. Connect with your backers in a deeper level by sharing with them how did you come up with the idea for the product, what were the biggest challenges that you faced and the biggest problems that you overcome to get to where you are right now. Introduce to your audience the team behind the project. Pitch to the supporters not just the product, but the origin story behind it. This is the beginning of your venture, the fundamentals that you are building your project on, the base for all further updates that are to be shared.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

“Progress requires setbacks; the only sure way to avoid failure is not to try.” Henry Spencer

Many entrepreneurs find it disturbing to talk about the setbacks they encounter during their crowdfunding campaigns. Even though it may seem odd to talk about the obstacles you face, it is a great way to keep the trust of your backers. A few entrepreneurs get the things right from the first trial. Failure is a great way to improve and to learn. The supporters of your project need to know what you have gone through and how much you have grown in order to get to the final stage of your project.

It’s all in the details

“It’s the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.” John Wooden

Share with your supporters regular updates about the development progress of the product. Introduce them to the little details that show how your product works, give them interesting updates and sneak peeks from the elaboration of the product. The magic of being part of the creation of something new, interesting and innovative is in the core of crowdfuning. It brings excitement, a feeling of importance, which most of the supporters would like to share with the world. And a smuch as hey share, the better for your campaign.

The social interaction

“Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.” Anthony J. D’Angelo

Building a strong community of supporters, who communicate actively not only with you and your team, but also among themselves, is a great way to create a bigger impact and to ensure that your project gets the right amount of attention. To make the communication even more personal, it is an awesome idea to hold local meet-ups, where the supporters can interact with each other and your team face-to-face. Of course, crowdfudning brings together people from all over the world, who support the same project, yet encouraging personal meetings and sharing with the rest of the community photos from the meetings can give a sense of togetherness and can inspire the creation of strong bond between the supporters.
